Iowa's Entrepreneurs
with Disabilities
Program Presents:
e-Marketplace Project
In 2006 six clients of Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Iowa Department for the Blind were selected to participate in the e-Marketplace Project and are demonstrating that, with proper training, equipment and resources, individuals with disabilities can start and sustain profitable businesses utilizing eBay® as the marketplace.
Counselors begin the process by completing the Self Employment Assessment and Referral Form. On this form, counselors can indicate the individuals interest in applying to the e-Marketplace Project. Once this form has been submitted to EWD, the client will be issued an application. The Client will complete the application and return it to EWD for review. Both the client and counselor will be notified when an application decision has been made.
Clients selected to participate in the project will receive group business training, individual assistance from an eBay® consultant, customized business planning technical assistance, and financial assistance.
