 Microenterprise Development
& Vocational Rehabilitaton

The Abilities Fund is frequently contacted by state vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies for assistance in developing programs and designing policy to ensure effective self employment services.  Whenever possible, we structure the VR self employment strategy around a partnership with a microenterprise development organization.

Once these partnerships are made, microenterprise programs provide entrepreneurship workshops, feasibility assessment services, business plan development, capitalization and post start up monitoring (or a combination of these services) to their state VR agencies on a fee-for-service basis.  Many of these partnerships have proven to be lucrative sources of unrestricted earned income for microenterprise agencies.  If you are interested in learning more about how to establish a relationship with your state VR agency, please email Patti Lind.
