The Association for
Enterprise Opportunity

The Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) is the national membership organization for microenterprise and microlending organizations throughout America.

AEO features over 500 members adept at poverty alleviation strategies through self employment training, technical assistance, and financial literacy.  Many of these organizations also have loan programs and other financial products designed specifically for individuals interested in business ownership.

Typically, these organizations are non-profit entities that obtain their capital from a variety of public and private sources.  Service areas vary based on the organization - some work specifically with defined communities or demographics, while others may serve mulitple states or offer services nationally.

The Abilities Fund encourages all microenterprise professionals and small business developers to learn more about the benefits of AEO membership.
