Kathy Dick – K.D. Cleaning Services
“I love your dirt! Thanks for letting me take it out with the trash!”

Kathy Dick of Hastings, Nebraska owns and operates a commercial and residential cleaning business, K.D. Cleaning Services. Kathy has a thriving business and looks to keep growing. She is able to serve clients in Hastings and the surrounding area and offers a wide variety of services. She prides herself on thorough and quality cleaning.
The Abilities Fund is committed to changing lives through service to others, and so is Kathy. She regularly donates to Goodwill and Crossroads homeless shelter and assists their causes. She also aids several elderly people in her community and helps with the 4-H horseback riding program. She is very community-oriented and encourages others to recycle, volunteer, and promote local businesses.
Kathy plans to use her award to increase advertisement and purchase equipment.

Erin Fairley – Fairley Good Cattle

Erin Fairley owns and operates a farming business with her husband in Nebraska. They farm 350 acres of corn, soybeans and alfalfa and have a custom haying operation that services area farmers. They also have 115 cow-calf pairs with the calves being sold at market in the fall. The hard work that goes into these three aspects of the Fairley Good Cattle farm is just the beginning of Erin’s job.
Erin keeps records and handles paperwork for the farm and hay business. She does all the scheduling and invoicing for the hay business, as well as bill paying and keeping track of cow records. She also is the primary caretaker of day-to-day operations with the cow herd.
Erin is also committed to volunteerism and community involvement. She is active in church and serves on committees for church functions and shares her talents in the worship service. In a rural community, a helping hand can sometimes be more like an extra job, but Erin is always right there to help her neighbors. She helps chop wood for elderly neighbors, and has shared her time to help a family clean up and move after a devastating tornado.
Erin plans to use her award to build new corrals and working facilities for her cattle herd. An updated corral would mean a more efficient and safe working environment for both cattle and workers.
